Advertising on Q-files

Q-files is a free online encyclopedia supported partly by advertising.

We use Google advertising services to display ads on some pages of the site. These ads help support the creation and maintenance of educational content.

Q-files is used by schools and young learners so we use non-personalised advertising only. This means ads are shown based on the content of the page rather than on individual browsing behaviour.

We also block categories of advertising that are not appropriate for an educational environment, including gambling, dating, alcohol, and other adult content.

Advertisements are clearly separated from editorial content and never appear inside quizzes or learning activities in a way that could interfere with learning.
